I was a bit worried that the brand new Neo would be a poor quality, ChromeBook-esque piece of crap. I had change to play around with one at an Apple Store recently, and I was surprised. It feels quality. It actually feels that you're getting more than you're paying for (not a common feeling for Apple gear to be honest, and that is coming from a complete fanboy). The keyboard doesn't have much travel (I prefer more, but laptops continue to get smaller and smaller so ...), the trackpad, while not as good as the one in my M5 MBP, is completely usable. And the screen is fine. If these were available when the kids were needing a laptop, they would have been an insta-buy. Right now, I've no use for one but I really do love that purple, sorry, I mean Indigo color ...
